About Department:

Electrical Engineering Department, established in the year 2001, is one of the oldest departments of Bharat Institute of Technology, Meerut. The department has been imparting quality education at undergraduate level. The faculty members have been active in teaching and research activities. The course curriculum is being revised from time to time so as to keep abreast with the latest developments and emerging technologies. Various departmental laboratories have been strengthened and modernized by procuring state of art equipments. The department is equipped with the latest experimental and computational facilities for taking up R&D and consultancy activities in different areas of electrical engineering.

 

HOD EN:

Mr. Arvind Raja born on March 08, 1974.  He has obtained B. E. in Electrical Engineering from MMMEC, Gorakhpur in the year 1998 with First Class.  He has also obtained M. Tech. degree from UPTU, Lucknow in the year 2009. in Electronics Instrumentation & Control with First class. He is also pursuing Ph. D. degree from DTU, New Delhi.  He has worked as lecturer for 3 years in CITM, Faridabad.  Thereafter he joined Apeejay College of Engineering, Gurgaon as Sr. Lecturer and worked for 2 years in this position.  He thereafter switched over to KNMIT, Modinagar, Ghaziabad in the year 2003 as Sr. Lecturer.  Thereafter he switched over to BIT, Meerut in the year 2006. Thereafter he has become a full fledged Associate Professor and worked there for more than 7 years. He has published around 3 research papers in the various International and National Conferences



Faculty Achievements:

1-All the Faculty members have completed Mission 10X certification course conducted by Wipro.
2-Mr. Arvind Raja has presented various research papers including one prestigious paper “Comparison of supplementary Controllers for TCR-FC for Damping Oscillation in Power System” in international Journal of Advances in Engineering Science and Technology (March 2013). Application for preventative measures in lightning protection (IJREAS, Volume 2, Issue 9 Sept 2012, ISSN 2249-3905)
3-Mr. Amit Kr. Dash has presented various research papers including one prestigious paper “Comparison study of PWM inverters and their performance”
4-Mr. Vivek Kr. Pandey has published various Research Papers including one paper in prestigious International Journal. (Journal of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Research, March 2011,”Design and Development of Fuzzy logic Controller to control the speed of permanent magnet synchronous motor”) He has also enrolled Ph.D from IIT Delhi this year.
5-Mr. Vipin Jain has published various research papers including one Conference in Bangkok (Thailand). He is also the author of famous book “Space Science”. A paper in prestigious International Journal. (Innovative Systems Design and Engineering” ISSN 2222-1727 (Paper) ISSN 2222-2871 (Online), Vol.1, No.4, 2011 “Implementation of Fuzzy Logic in TCR-FC”) is one of the biggest achievement by him.
6-Mrs. Shweta Shukla has presented three Research papers in different conferences.
7-Mr. Sonu Singhal has presented four Research papers in prestigious conferences.
8-Mr. Javed Ali has enrolled M.Tech from IIT Roorkee under QIP programme this year.


Students Achievements:
 
1- 15 out of 58 final year students have been placed through campus recruitment drive this year. 18 students have also qualified GATE – 2013.
2- 2nd year students have completed a training on MATLAB.
3- 3rd year students have completed a training on Embedded system.
4- Final year students have completed a training on Automation & Control.
5- In final year one group prepared quad copter during major project.
