Achievements:

The department boasts of the following achievements -

1. First in the region to have ORACLE WORK FORCE DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE. So far the institute has trained more than 800 students on different IT technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL , JAVA and Database Administration. Students are encouraged to clear international certifications and last year 20 students cleared the Introduction to Oracle:SQL international certification. International certifications are offered at at least 25% discount to the students.

2. First in the region to have EMC Academic Alliance. Every year students go for industrial visit to EMC - A leading Storage Management Company. EMC also offers summer training at no cost to the students of CSE. Different niche technologies such as Information Storage and Management (ISM) & Cloud Infrastructure Management (CIS) are also taught as Non Credit Courses to the students. Certifications are offered at 90% discount to the students.

3. First in the region to have an alliance with HP Education Services. Hewlett Packard (HP) conducts technical courses on programming languages such as C, C++ , Databases, Java & dot Net for the students. A large number of students also undergo summer training wherein they are asked to develop projects which are mentored by seasoned IT Professionals.

4. First in the region to have an alliance with Redhat - World's leading LINUX vendor. The institute is a REDHAT ACADEMY. The agreement was signed in 2013. Courses such as Redhat System Administrator and Redhat Certified Engineer are taught to the students to make them "industry ready" thereby improving their employability.

5. First in the region to have initiated Non Credit Courses such as Python & PHP. These courses are taught during the academic session with other subjects (prescribed in the curriculum) and the students undergo an examination which earns them an certificate thereby improving their technical competence.

6. The institute also has an alliance with IBM - the oldest and most reputed IT company. Numerous workshops and hands-on sessions are conducted on niche technologies such as Software Testing and Mobile Application Development. The students also participate in "The Great Mind Challenge Contest" which helps them in learning industry coding standards. These projects are mentored by seasoned IT Professionals.

7. The department also conducts 30 hours of Aptitude Training in every semester starting from second year onwards. The department also conducts online aptitude tests round the semester to improve the Quantitative and Analytical skills of the students. Now a days a large number of IT companies conduct these tests for selecting students in placement drives. Also GATE and CAT - exams for higher studies have a good number of questions to test the candidate's quantitative and analytical skills. The department's initiative to conduct this exercise has resulted in increased number of placements this year.

8. The department also conducts Personality Development Programmes for students to groom their personality. These sessions are spread across in every semester and cover areas such as communication skills, group discussions and mock interviews.
