Department of Civil Engineering

 

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the academic year 2007 with the aim of imparting quality education to the students. Total intake of students in B.Tech is 180. Department has been imparting quality education to meet the technological advancement and industrial requirements. This has been made possible due to qualified and dedicated faculty, state of the art laboratories and infrastructure facilities. The 21st Century is witnessing many challenges due to the rapid developments in technological revolution, population growth, environmental concerns, and more. The coming years will be the most creative, demanding, and rewarding of times for civil engineers. The Department has a well qualified and experienced faculty from NITs, IITs and other reputed colleges. The Department also encourages its students to engage in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, essential for development, nurturing of team spirit, and developing organizational skills.

Program Outcomes

The department of civil engineering has identified 11 program outcomes that undergraduate students should achieve during their course of study. These outcomes are listed below

PO 1:An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals as it applies to the field of civil engineering.

PO 2:An ability to identify, formulates, and solves problems related to civil engineering.

PO 3:An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as collect data, analyze and interpret results.

PO 4: An ability to analyze and design reinforced concrete, steel structures and other civil engineering problems as per need and codal specifications.

PO 5:An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for civil engineering practice.

PO 6:An ability to understand the impact of civil engineering solutions on the society.

PO 7:An ability to demonstrate the understanding of professional ,ethical and environmental responsibilities.

PO 8:An ability to visualize and work in laboratory and understanding of individual and team responsibilities.

In order to provide a quality undergraduate degree, the computer science program has three overarching objectives:
