 The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers 4-year B.Tech. Programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The Electrical Engineering deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism, which includes all large-scale electrical systems mostly, power transmission and motor control. Electrical engineering has gone from simple electric circuits of Edison and Tesla through Rocket science of Bode and Nyquist to the complexity of IC, Satellites and Communication network. The demand of electrical energy in our country is increasing at a very fast rate and this necessitates the need to generate more power. Thus the role of electrical engineer becomes all the more important in today’s scenario. We are extremely well equipped to provide prospective engineers with the necessary training and knowledge to enable them to make a meaningful contribution in this area. Initially the programme provides students with a broad base on which their specialist knowledge can be built, the later years have been designed to produce professional engineers with a good working knowledge of analogue, digital and power electronics, electrical machines and power system with the emphasis on applications. The department has an excellent infrastructure to promote a congenial academic environment to impart quality education with well-equipped laboratories and a team of qualified and dedicated faculty members. The department has a well developed R&D cell guided by dedicated faculty members. It also has adequate skilled and self-motivated technical staff.

Program Outcomes


The department of Electrical and Electronics has identified 11 program outcomes that undergraduate students should achieve during their course of study. These outcomes are listed below:

 PO1-      An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals as it applies to the field of electrical and electronics engineering.

 PO2-      An ability to identify, formulates, and solves problems related to electrical and electronics engineering.

 PO3-      An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as collect data, analyze and interpret results .

 PO4-      An ability to design and validate power system and machines or process as per needs and specifications.

 PO5-      An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

 PO6-      An ability to understand the impact of electrical and electronics engineering solutions on the society.

 PO7-      An ability to demonstrate the understanding of professional ,ethical and environmental responsibilities.

 PO8-      An ability to visualize and work in laboratory and understanding of individual and team responsibilities.

In order to provide quality undergraduate degree, the electrical and electronic engineering program has three overarching objectives:

PEO1-    Graduatrs of the programme will adapt to the continuous changing in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

PEO2-    Graduates of the programme will have a successful professional career

PEO3-    Graduates will be able to communicate and work as a part of a team in order to be an effective member of the work place and the society
